Welcome to Antopia Park! I'm building a huge 82-acre nature park, which I intend to open to the public and to tourists. In this video, I discuss my plans for launching such a large-scale operation, ask for your feedback and help to make certain decisions, as well as give you a sample "Antopia Park Tour" experience. Come join me as we venture into the wilderness and explore the amazing world of ants, and hopefully make some epic discoveries along the way. Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution. #Antopia

  • You know what would make for a really epic ant farm? A large, vertical setup based on Jules' Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. The top section being the outworld, a rocky-looking barren volcanic caldera, with tubes leading to deeper layers of rock and fossil-lined soil. Another section of crystal-lined caves and steep rocky pits, another layer that has a "forest" of ferns and fake glow-in-the-dark plastic mushrooms you get at pet and aquarium stores, and a bottom level that's basically an aquarium to represent the Underground Sea.

  • And with the tree houses you're going to destroying a lot of places for ants to live just to put a place for a person to live it does not make sense buddy so you're going to cut down a bunch of these giant trees to put fake leaf cutter nest for people up and take away the areas for the real leaf cutter ants seriously guy I thought you were for ants this seems like you want to make yourself a theme park so you can make money think about it

    Markius GalfordiiMarkius Galfordii12 dni temu
  • You might got high hopes for society but you forget we destroy everything we will destroy your Park we will destroy you I'm just letting you know give you the heads up owning your own Park is not fun it's not entertaining and you drive yourself into a early grave because of it I've been there I've watched my buddy's part go downhill I slowly watched his whole dream die because of people it was because people kept destroying his property everything he tried to maintain and keep going some little punk kid would come across and break it that's what you got watch out for make sure you think about it and make sure you don't put ants in trouble cuz that's what you're going to end up doing sorry to say but people are ignorant and we will destroy a park and land like that you might as well keep it pure and have one or two of your friends come over and hike it with you then have it open to the public public is stupid

    Markius GalfordiiMarkius Galfordii12 dni temu
  • I would not stay up in a tree sorry I am am not a leaf cutter ant I stay on the ground I would say limit the camping and make sure you get the names of everybody there and make sure they pick up their garbage and everything else heavy is a natural camping resort which means everything you bring in you take out the problem is people are disgusting a person can be smart and intelligent people in general are stupid and naive and they will trash your backyard so think about that before you make a plan they will trash your Land then trash the ants I would make it so it was like a nature walk you only can camp in certain spots you got to stay on the trail you go off the trail it's a fine have camera out and everything think about it we're destroying the planet as it is now you're going to bring people onto your property and they're going to end up destroying your property too trust me it will happen a friend of mine tried to make it happen didn't work out that's the problem you might have high hopes for people which is cover your back

  • Dear Ants Canada: I was so happy to find your channel! It's fantastic you have devoted yourself to helping raise awareness of the nature and the importance of these tiny creatures. They really are incredible beings. I am reminded of when I was a little kid and used to enjoy sitting in the backyard watching the ants build their nests and scavenge for food. They were fascinating to me. My father told me that his grandfather had taught him not to kill the ants that would occasionally make their way into the house. Grandfather said, "if the ants are in our kitchen, it's because they are hungry and want to feed their family." He would then throw a handful of breadcrumbs outside near the ant hill, or leave a bit of fruit, and even sprinkled some water nearby on hot days. Eventually, I grew up and forgot about all that; that isnuntil I had my own house. One day, I saw a bunch of the little sweet-eating ants had invaded our kitchen. I was about to wipe them out, but at that moment my 3-year-old son came running over and planted himself between me and the line of ants. He outstretched his little arms as wide as he could and shouted, "NO MOMMY! DON'T KILL THEM -- LET THEM WALK! They need go home to their mommy!" Well, who could argue with that? So instead, we followed the trail to see where it was coming from, found the nest outside away from the house, and left some breadcrumbs and fruit and other bits of food they seemed to like. By morning, they had left our kitchen to go gather up the food we'd left. That was many years ago, and my kids are all grown up now. But to this day, whenever I find an ant -- or a line of them -- I still do my best to let them walk. After all they need to go home to their mommy.

  • Just a thought: Opening the park risk the safety of the local ants since tourists may bring invasive species in

    ClovagerClovager15 dni temu
  • One interesting challenge that I see in creating an ant park is the constantly changing ant environment. As new colonies form and old colonies die out, I would think it might be hard to demonstrate predetermined information on ants as 1 week they may be in one area, and the next week not be in that same area. What if you guided people to a tree with weaver ants, and then discovered that the weaver ant colony was no longer existing. I would have to imagine that staff would be required to map out tours each and everyday or at least map tours on a weekly basis. You could create a system of interlocking trails that allow for changes in the park's flow, as well as a list of things you 100% want to be shown to guests even if the path looks a bit different.
